Position: Information Systems Analyst
Reports to: Director of Technology
Working Hours: 8 hours per day in the range of 7:00 AM up to 6:00 PM Monday Friday

Position Overview:

The IS Analyst works within the School Information Systems team to support and administer school information systems at UNIS Hanoi. The School Information Systems team collaboratively prioritizes operations, projects and support for their respective focus areas. Analysts are expected to have sufficient knowledge of all systems in order to provide coverage for each other and to collectively support project implementations.

Responsibilities:

- Contribute to the planning, support and administration for UNIS Hanoi school information systems such as the Student Information System (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), activities signup system and Learning Analytics platform.
- Act as the primary support person for day to day support tickets related to school information systems. Engage with outside departments to ensure that key processes are supported such as activities signups, query development or data dashboard maintenance.
- Manage software contracts and coordinate renewals in partnership with the Procurement department.
- Contribute to the implementation of new functionality by joining project teams, develop training materials and support users post implementation. Track support tickets, project work and continuous improvement activities within the department's Service Desk and Agile software.
- Train and stay up to date on data processing and information systems admin. Assist in the development and delivery of training for staff and faculty. Facilitate in person training and develop materials such as user manuals and instructional videos.
- Performs data analysis tasks, including but not limited to compiling and cleaning data, processing and modeling data, analyzing data, data visualization and data manipulation.
- Recommend and implement good data stewardship through practices such as periodic audits, backup routines and data consistency checks.

Key Competencies:

Technical capacity
i. Education/qualification
- Bachelor degree, Masters degree preferred in relevant discipline.
ii. Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in an IS Analyst analyst role
- At least one year of working in a highly multicultural environment or an international school.
iii. Technical knowledge
- Highly proficient user of MS-Excel, Google Sheets, Google Docs and MS-Word. Experience with low code solutions is a plus.
- Experience with SOL programming and/or MS SQL database.
- Experience with requirements gathering, stakeholder interviews, business process mapping, data modeling, creating data sets.
- Willingness to learn about data conversion process using Data Transformation Services (DTS), Access and - MS SQL server.
- Experience with data analysis.
- Programming and API experience preferred.
- Progressive experience in K12 customer facing in a systems
support/configuration role is a plus.
iv. Other requirements:
- Excellent communication skills and positive customer facing skills.
