Overview
This position is located within the EE division of VinFast engineering, located in Hanoi. The purpose of the role is to deliver eSIM and network strategies and solutions to VinFast vehicles, across a number of diverse global markets.
The manager will be require to capture and define requirements from across the business, identifying and select technical and commercial solutions that satisfy current strategic needs whilst also future-proofing for new features and go-to-market strategies. These requirements will form the basis of a roadmap to be created and maintained, along with tactical delivery of the solutions to our vehicles. This includes compliance to local telecom regulations and maintenance of a regulatory landscape roadmap.
Finally a roadmap toward new technologies must be created and maintained, presented regularly to leadership for strategic approval.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of cellular connectivity/eSIM roadmap and consolidated strategy
- Capture of cross function requirements, GTM and operational service strategy
- Mapping of requirements to technical solutions and product releases
- Creation of RFQ/RFP documentation, vendor technical and commercial analysis and selection
- Delivery to vehicle launch of technical solutions, including validation
- Network certification delivery, regulatory compliance of end-to-end solution
- Maintain roadmap of regulation, new technologies and network sunsets

- Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics or related subject area.
- Experience in an Engineering or Systems role within a vehicle OEM, MNO/MVNO, or relevant technology vendor.
- Experience designing, delivering and launching IoT and eSIM based solutions
- Sound understanding of RAN and Core networks, IoT platforms and device-level technologies
- Practical understanding and experience of relevant telecom standards, regulations and certification topics, specifically for IoT applications.
- Practical experience of designing for service operations
- Ideal candidate is familiar with Agile, ITIL and use of associated tools including Jira.
- Experience managing small teams preferred.
